For those of you who still check on me from time to time, I am still here. I haven't posted anything new in a LONG time, mostly because I lacked the desire to draw anymore. Hopefully that will change, but please be patient. I will still mark deviations as my favorites or follow you, but there may not be any new work for a while. Thanks for stopping by!

6 months ago I tried creating my own Influence Map when foxorian's original meme was so popular, but I just couldn't finish it.  I had made a commitment to upload something new every week according to my nifty "Weekly Muse" journal idea... but I didn't stick to it.  Now, in order to recommit myself to being more creative and less self-critical, I have finished my Influence Map and displayed it for all to see.  If I don't get a picture up one week, I'll do better the next week.  The point is to enjoy the artistic process and share my work with you.  ^_^

Kind of a funny muse, huh?  However, when I first submitted my Belle piece I was so excited to finally be consistent in submitting dA pieces... until I got stuck.  I tried working on a couple of projects and just couldn't bring myself to finish them.  Then after a month I decided to get my rear in gear and finish something!!  So I did, and I created a monster... Medusa! Enjoy!  Because it's the last thing you see before you turn to stone!  Bwa ha ha!

Each week I hope to post a new journal entry with a "Weekly Muse" and a new image. This journal entry is designed to show you the sources of inspiration I draw from (no pun intended... okay, maybe a little) and the image will be the result of this inspiration. This week I'm featuring Beauty and the Beast, which happens to be my favorite Disney movie. It never fails to inspire me... the music, the art, the animation, I love it all! It also helps that Belle is my favorite character.

"Belle coloring page" is the sister piece to my previous "Snow White coloring page", which uses an existing coloring book lineart picture. The experiment, as completed by several members on dA, is to paint in the style of an Old Master. I'm not experienced in that aspect of art yet, but I enjoyed the practice of just "coloring"! James C. Christensen and dA artist loish were my inspiration to use plenty of color in this piece. Singer Hayley Westenra (and of course, the Beauty and the Beast song itself) provided the soundtrack while I worked.

P.S. The Diamond Edition is coming out October 5, and the long-awaited Art of Beauty and the Beast will be coming out in September! I know I'm looking forward to it!

After three weeks of sketching and erasing and wondering and worrying, I've finally uploaded some new work! Two items are in the Scrapbook section, because one day I hope to paint them.  One item, my Medusa drawing, I decided to display in my main gallery, just for fun.  Over the next little while I'll add some more drawings (the paintings will just have to wait. ) It makes me feel so good to finally keep this promise to myself and to you kind viewers! Thank you for your patience!
